Richard Lambert (Production Engineering - Nottingham Trent University) has over 30 years’ experience in industrial automation. Since 1992 working with terminal operators on process optimisation and automation projects. Pioneering digitisation in ports paving the way to today’s smart ports including some of the world’s first automated RTGs in 1993, automated geofencing, job stepping, and optimizing gate and yard processes using passive RFID.

In 2002 Richard lead a group of port automation specialists to set up International Terminal Solutions Ltd. Specialising in turn key automation projects for container terminals, concentrating specifically on the development and implementation of systems aimed in streamlining and increasing container terminal operational safety and efficiency.
